Settling in at Graceland University

By: Caitlyn Valero

Graceland is what some call home away from home. Here we have people from all over the world who bring many unique backgrounds. But that does not stop the quickly forming community. The dorms are separated into houses, and in each house, you have the people you live with and do everything with.

There is never a dull moment here at Graceland University. From playing at mud games and cheering our YellowJackets to victory, life at Graceland is filled with experiences you will never forget. Being at Graceland is not just being a student or being an athlete, but it is about being a part of something much more: A community.

Student life thrives on campus. As one student put it, “Being overwhelmed with the activities, there not enough hours in the day to do everything that this school offers. The students are truly diverse and are very welcoming it gives off a high school feeling”. Settling in at Graceland usually happens faster than you might expect. The first few weeks can feel overwhelming with classes and meeting new people, but it does not take long before this campus becomes a familiar place. The people you meet become your friends, teammates, and your supporters.

In the end, Graceland is more than just a university, it is a community that welcomes you, challenges you, and helps you grow. The memories made here are the kind that stay with you. This small town in Iowa begins to become a place that feels like home.
